A 5.7 million sqm masterplan to be located in Fuzhou, China, showcases a sustainable set of islands spread over 8km. The concept was inspired by the moon, water and nature; it combines the power of nature with innovative man made forms.
Built over 12 large plots, the objective was to create an intelligent city with hybrid infrastructure – offshore windfarms generate power with solar energy.
Plot A on the east side of the main island features a yacht club, seaplan airport, 6 star hotel and convention centre. There are preserved wetland areas throughout the masterplan. For Plot B, the idea was for an international senior health base, wellness centres and vertical parking under existing bridge. Plot C features a tourist entertainment centre, educational and commercial facilities, whilst Plot D offers retreatment and health facilities (with further preserved wetlands and farm areas). A Taiwan industrial park for research is housed in Plot E and in Plot F, a residential and natural landscape that is the Taiwan star island. In Plot G, an ecological and technology incubator, Plot H the flower expo with native platforms, and Plot I, an equestrian club and wetland preservation areas. To conclude, corporate club and executive facilities are based on Plot J.
