Situated on the 23rd-26th floors of a high rise in central Fuqing, this 1000 sqm private residence houses a series of custom made furniture pieces, specifically designed and created by Marques & Jordy. A large white sofa, inspired by a garden rose, stands elegant and proud, becoming the key feature sat on top of an Italian stone tiled floor. A large scale custom designed mirror is admired from the 2nd level balcony, where one gains access to the cigar lounge and sky garden.
The children’s wing of the residence is located on the first floor and incorporates a private living room that doubles as a play area and en suite bedroom for each child. A large, organic shaped sofa sits in the playroom where an open piano room is located. Laminated glass panels appear with hand painted images of oversized lips and simplified European patterns in brightest red. Marques & Jordy were commissioned for the artworks that appear throughout, with each individual piece handpainted and created to suit the space.
The boy’s bedroom is themed with his favourite, transformer toys. A blue colour scheme is used and the private bathroom finished in half inch mosaic tiles, showcasing images of his favourite cars. Her favourite flower, the poppy, influences the girl’s bedroom. A custom mosaic pattern in Bisazza tiles is designed as the wall finish for the bathroom, with a curved corian sink unit and countertop.
Housed on the 2nd floor is a gym and home theatre; an imported custom design textile pattern in the form of a pixelated tree covers the wall expanse in the theatre, also adding to the acoustic performance of the room. The 3rd floor is accessed through the 2nd rooftop garden area and provides a private study area for important business meetings. One enjoys views across the city’s river from the terrace garden.
The final flourishes are discovered in the master bedroom where a custom made headboard sweeps across the wall. Furnishings in European fabrics and Italian marble floors create the dignified interior. Divided into three zones, the dry area features a walk in wardrobe designed with a wave pattern etched into the black glass doors. An open sink area links the three spaces wit a sauna and separate shower. Bisazza mosaic tiles make an elegant pattern to the master bedroom floor finish, with the min feature being a central round bathtub designed by Ross Lovegrove, from London.
